Scanway S.A., based in Wrocław, Poland, builds the equipment that lets a spacecraft see. Its space products include telescopes and cameras that observe Earth or monitor what is happening around a satellite. There is also an industrial-vision business, where the camera stays rather closer to home.

Customers buy optical instruments, engineering and integrated imaging systems. The work extends beyond choosing a lens: the optics, electronics and structure have to deliver a useful image in the conditions of the mission. Industrial customers use its vision systems to inspect production and measure products.
